This creates an account for this app plus stores your Kite Connect app's key and secret, so it can talk to Zerodha on your behalf. You'll separately log in to your Zerodha account itself from the home page once you're signed in here.
Set up your Kite Connect app
About 10 minutes, once. You need a Zerodha trading account; the app you create belongs to you, and only you hold its key and secret.
Sign in to the Kite developer console
Go to developers.kite.trade and sign up or log in. This is a separate login from your Kite trading account.Create a new app
Open Create a new app and fill it in like this:TypeConnect (paid). Wavion needs live quotes and historical candles, which the free Personal type doesn't include.App nameAnything you like, e.g. Wavion.Zerodha Client IDYour trading account ID, e.g. AB1234 — shown in Kite under your profile.Redirect URLCopy it exactly from below — any difference and the Zerodha login won't come back here.Postback URLLeave empty.DescriptionAnything, e.g. “Signals and auto-trading”.Redirect URL…Copy the API key and secret
After saving, open the app from your app list. Copy its API key and API secret into the form. Keep the secret private — anyone with it and your login can trade on your account.Live (real-money) trading only: register a static IP
Signals and paper trading work without this. Zerodha only accepts API orders from a static IP registered in your developer Profile → IP Whitelist (changeable once a week). See Zerodha's static IP guide.Connect Zerodha once a day
After creating your account here, connect Zerodha from the dashboard. Zerodha ends API sessions every morning, so you'll log in to Zerodha once each trading day.
